Even though the countdown timer on the teaser site still indicates there’s a week to go before the next info reveal, the countdown itself is little more than a formality.

The Ferrari has begun the party a week earlier than expected by revealing first official pictures and details of its long anticipated supercar. Please welcome the all new Ferrari California. Like other current Ferraris, this Pininfarina-penned 2-seater comes with aluminium fabricated chassis and bodywork and slots in just below the 612 Scaglietti.
The Ferrari California joins the Prancing Horse’s 8-cylinder family and will be available exclusively as a convertible with an electrically powered folding hard top. The California will be powered by a new V8 engine mounted for the first time in the marque’s history in the mid-front position.
